Susan Batson Studio developed out of legendary acting guru Susan Batson's coaching sessions with A-list actors and from the acting and production company called Black Nexxus founded by Carl Ford in 1996.
The Studio's faculty are working actors who have been carefully selected by Ms. Batson, and several of them boast international performance experience. The required text for acting classes at the New York Acting Studio is Ms. Batson's acclaimed book on acting called Truth: Personas, Needs, and Flaws in the Art of Building Actors and Creating Characters (Introduction by Nicole Kidman). The key word at Susan Batson Studio is passion! Passion is the thing that leads both aspiring and experienced actors to come to the Studio. Using Susan Batson's methods, the faculty is very passionate about leading students to the organic, stellar performances they desire.
All students must take a minimum of four classes per week. This program is designed to demand a commitment from each student to make acting a priority in his/her life. All actors in each class are working on their craft and developing their process on a full-time basis. Under the continued guidance of Studio faculty, actors at the Studio are led to the achievement of their true greatness!
