This workshop’s mission is centered on helping the actor to create a vehicle for their talent and then giving the actor a platform to express that creation—the creation is a One-Person show. Short biography plays about the rich, famous and intriguing people of today and yesterday. Daring, intimate explorations of these people written, performed, and directed by Susan Batson Studio artists. The purpose is to encourage the actor to become the master of his and her own destiny, by creating vehicles for themselves. These vehicles can also be developed to be performed at schools, churches, and other venues.

Actors are given a Celebrity Icon chosen by Susan Batson, and through research and artistic work they will explore the public and unknown facets of that celebrity. The hope is that actors will ultimately have a viable piece of work that they can use throughout their careers.
